‘aw’ as in paw
Note to tutor:
1. Pointing to the caption under the paw say to your child (using letter names) ‘a’ (ay) and ‘w’ (double you) together say (using the sound) ‘aw’ as in paw.
2. Pointing to the word paw, sound it out, p-aw, and then blend it into the word paw.
3. Ask your child to point to each word in the caption under the picture of the paw as he/she reads, ‘aw’ as in paw.
1. Do you have a pet dog?
2. Write its name on the line. If you do not have a pet dog write the name you would give a pet dog if you did have one. Remember names always begin with a capital letter.

3. What colour is your pet dog?
4. Write the colour on the line. If you do not have a pet dog write the colour you would like a pet dog to be if you had one.

5. If you have a pet dog look at its paw and colour the above
paw the same as your pet’s paw. If you do not have a pet
dog use the colour you chose to write on the line.
