Read the ‘ee’ words from Lesson Twenty Four.

Lesson Twenty Five: (‘sh’ as in sheep)

Note to tutor:
1. Pointing to the caption under the sheep –
say to your child (using letter names),
“s (es) and h (aitch) together say (using letter sound)
‘sh’ as in sheep.”
2. Pointing to the word sheep, sound it out, sh-ee-p, and then blend it into the word sheep.
3. Ask your child to point to the caption under the picture of the sheep and read, ‘sh as in sheep’.

1. Sound out the words in the rectangles.

Note: the word ‘shoe’ is in green. Can you think why?
(It is a look say word, so cannot be sounded out)

2. Find the sheep on page 53. Draw a background to the picture. Draw a sun in the sky. Are there any clouds in the sky? Are there any birds in the sky? Draw some grass for the sheep to eat. Are there any other sheep in the paddock? Are there any trees in the paddock? Can you see any fence posts? Can you see the farmer?

3. When you have finished drawing the background to the picture, cut out the rectangles with the words in them and spread them out over your picture, especially in the sheep.

4. Read each word to your tutor, and then glue it onto your picture.

5. Glue the sheep into your scrapbook.

6. Find the flashcard for ‘sh as in sheep’.
