Revision: Read the story “The Twins Pool Party” on page 77.

1. This lesson introduces the word ‘people’.
2. Notice that the word ‘people’ with a capital letter looks like this ‘People’, and without a capital letter it looks like this, ‘people’.
3. Where would you find the word ‘People’ with a capital letter? (at the beginning of a sentence).
4. Trace over and then write the word ‘People’, with a capital letter and then without a capital letter.

5. Turn to page 79 and write the word ‘people’ in the spaces. If the word is at the beginning of a sentence it will have to have a capital letter. Notice that the word people is always written with the letters ‘p-e-o-p-l-e’.

6. Practise reading the sentences and then read them fluently to your tutor.
7. If you do not know a word in the sentence, and you can’t sound it out, look at the sound the word begins with and use the sense of the sentence to help you.
